Try Something New

When’s the last time you tried something new?

Does your life feel boring? Like a lot of the same old, same old, struggling through pandemic life and wishing for things to return to ‘normal’?

I’m guessing that ‘normal’ life wasn’t actually all that exciting, it was comfortable. And that’s okay. We need that bit of known security. It helps keep us feeling safe, builds our confidence in knowing what comes next. We can even relax a bit into this level of a comfortable, known, normal life.

But maybe you’re craving a bit more of an amazing, fulfilling life. Something that adds a little zest to your day and boosts your mood a little. Vanilla is great, but sometimes you want a little something more.

The answer= TRY SOMETHING NEW!

Variety is the spice of life, as they say.

Maybe it’s not something totally new. Maybe it's revisiting a past hobby or sport. that you used to do in junior high or high school, but it’s been about 20 years since you really tried it.

It doesn’t have to be some gloriously bold new thing. Maybe it’s just adding a small twist to what you already do to give it a little boost and send your day off in a new trajectory.

☕️ trying a new creamer in your coffee

📺 watching a documentary about something that interests you

✍️ organizing your thoughts differently through life with lists, journaling or meditation

🍝 trying a new food (your kids will love watching you get a taste of your own medicine)

🏃‍♀️ going for a walk in a new place

🧶 buying a new craft kit or watching a how-to video

🐝 Or go bold with a new hobby (more on what I dove into this week if you follow me on Instagram)

Your fun, amazing, ‘normal’ life isn’t just going to show up on your door step, so let’s scout one out together. Tell me, are you up for trying something new this week? Share what you are putting on your list!
