Mindset Monday- Struggles
What are your tricks for getting things done?
Each day has its own set of struggles and yet we figure out how to get sh*t done every day.
Some days our capacity and skill set align and others it feels like a dumpster fire. This week has started off with a stuck sort of feeling and not a lot of enthusiasm for doing the things. But I show up, and things get done.
I would like for us all though, to alleviate some of these avoidable or manageable struggles, implement some hacks and techniques so we can all live a more magical, ideal life. And we are going to learn together along the way!
This is a tip I learned a couple years ago, that if I can name it, I can tame it. It gives me near immediate relief once I start to take action on naming the things that are causing my stress and creating higher lever of stress and anxiety than necessary. Take a moment to name your stresses, your struggles, your to-do list. Begin to tame the swirling thoughts by categorizing and prioritizing the list. Once they are corralled on paper, I could start to make logical groupings, see the forest through the trees and make a plan of action.
Write out what really needs done and slow the swirling thoughts and get a handle on them. Name what needs done so that you can tame the struggle and focus your energy on doing.
What needs to be done in the next 2 hours vs tomorrow or next week?
What are the things that have been added to your list by others?
What can you outsource or hit the "easy" button on?
What resources do you need to make things more convenient?
Prioritize based on urgency and personal importance.
And then take a breath and make magic happen while getting sh*t done. Because taking action is where the real conquering (and magic) happens.
