You know what adds ease and glow to my day? Enjoying some of my favorite things on the regular. And really noticing and appreciating how much they contribute to my well-being. Between the knowing-myself-better journey that evolved into the Illumination Kit and the on-going lists I keep of things I want More and Less of to keep recalibrating and fine-tuning exactly what it is that lights me up and finding easeful ways to layer it into my day.
Little nudges and helpers to keep my glow flowing.
Here's a glimpse into some of the things that are supporting and boosting my glow lately.
Diving Into Stories
I LOVE a good book, visiting a world within a story. Sometimes it leads to a massive book hangover, but I have no regrets. And since I dream of transforming at least one of my book ideas into a real-life read, making notes about what I loved (or didn’t) in each one is nudging my one step closer.
Taking the time to read before bed helps me transition into sleep mode and is part of my nightly routine. It plays a key role by-
getting me off my phone at a reasonable time
opens up ideas to contemplate while I'm sleeping
creating time to make notes about the day and tomorrow
Having this space to relax, ease out of the day and open myself up to dreaming nearly ensures a good night’s sleep. But I keep a stack of index cards beside the bed so any sleep-stealing thoughts and ideas have a place to be deposited until morning (unless I forget and have to use my hand instead, lol).

Help Your Body Glow
I’m super fancy and basically all of my beauty products come from Trader Joe’s. It hits the sweet spot appreciating a good value, reasonably clean ingredients, convenience and a fun little purchase tucked between the frozen bag of Orange Chicken and Everything But the Bagel Seasoning.
I’ll pretty much try most of the seasonal products that I feel I’ll use, but I do need to ease up on the candle buying... As the Michigan weather seesaws back and forth, this has been a lovely little seasonal lip mask helper in keeping my lips extra hydrated. I'm a sensitive person by nature (hello HSP, empath, enneagram 9, Undefined Solar Plexus) so having cray-dry lips is more than just a distraction. This little container has soothed my nervous system by alleviating that stinging dryness before it really sets in.
Soothe and Sleep Better
Again, supporting the needs of my inner being, I love a good weighted blanket (or two). It really helps me feel safe and snug in my bed and forget about life for a while. I mean there were those few times when they ganged up on me and I struggled to wrangle myself out from under them, but that was likely complicated by extending my bedtime reading ritual a bit too long.
The NodPod weighted eye mask is like the hug my face and head needs to block out the world and signal to my mind to quiet down. I pick up a lot of other people's energies throughout the day and it really helps me calm and reset my ability to handle what the world throws at me. I got it for my birthday last year it is something I use nearly every night.
Know to Glow
This peek at some of my favorite things is a result of knowing myself better and going through the journey I curated into the Illumination Kit. Using different methods to notice and contemplate my life, noticing the little things that help me show up as a glowier version of myself has been transformational. I’ve learned it actually takes a bit of confidence and bravery to understand what your mind, body and spirit needs. Prioritizing these self-care practices is more than just a nice to have. They prepare you to-
face the day in a higher-vibe state
builds inner trust with yourself
gives you extra capacity to take aligned action toward your dreams
