From Chaos to Clarity: When Everything's Messy
Following up on our dive into a juicy summer 🍑, I wanted to share with you an inspiring conversation I had on the Everything's Messy Podcast with Sarah Wilson.
As a guest, I opened up about my journey of self-discovery after becoming overwhelmed as a busy mom with a desire for more on my heart.
During our conversation, Sarah and I discussed how easy it is as busy parents to lose ourselves not only in our responsibilities but also to the expectations of others.
I shared how after becoming overwhelmed, I had to take the time to rediscover who I was beyond my roles as a wife and mother.
The Journey From Motherhood to entrepreneurship
On the podcast, I discussed the importance of acknowledging the challenges of motherhood and making time for self-care, even if it's just a daily walk. (Day 1,656 and counting)
Through daily walks, journaling and reading, I began to gain clarity on my true passions and purpose. This self-reflection process wasn't always easy, as I had to work through feelings of mom guilt in order to give myself permission to focus inward.
But it was so rewarding to reconnect with myself and better understand my needs, dreams and what lights me up.
Now through Firefly Scout, I aim to help others embrace life's messy journeys of self-discovery. Whether it's through my free resources, products or social media, my goal is to empower people to live as the main characters of their own stories and have the tools to truly live a life that lights them up.
Just like chasing fireflies at night, I want to encourage pursuing dreams and goals with playfulness rather than fear. Getting to know yourself through practices like movement meditation can help you overcome obstacles and level up to living your fullest potential.
Navigating the Feelings
Over the years, my daily walk streak evolved into a movement meditation that helped me process thoughts and feelings.
This led me to gain clarity on my dreams and purpose, which I now help others achieve through Firefly Scout.
Some key lessons I learned by navigating my inner world of fears and feelings through my daily walk and translating into aligned action include-
decluttering what doesn't serve you
power of a 10-minute spot clean (or less!)
using movement to overcome fears and beliefs holding you back
In our conversation, I also emphasized knowing yourself through journaling in order to give yourself the mental capacity to then take aligned actions.
So that you can start to listen to the dreams in your heart... and living a life that lights you up.
Know anyone with a great podcast that their audience would benefit from discovering ways to live a life that lights them up? I'd love your help in connecting us so that we can fill the world with even more Fireflies!
Journal Prompt Inspiration
Journaling was a big part of my journey and creating the mental space to allow for my intuition to come through and start to take aligned action toward living a life that lights me up.
Asking myself these questions and seeing what floats out onto the page has given me countless moments of clarity and connection.
Ask yourself-
What are some ways that I glorify being busy that may be depleting my energy?
What fears might be showing up in my life that are holding me back?
How can I use movement to work through them?
Where am I afraid of things ‘getting messy’ and letting that hold me back from making meaningful change in my life?
I hope sharing my story and message of living life playfully like 'chasing fireflies' can motivate and inspire you on your own journey.
