Why hello there

Why hello there! My name is Stephanie, a mid-life mom of 2 young boys, married in a Michigan suburb.  Long time home-officed worker in my day job and lifelong learner of interesting things.

A few years into the mom gig, I was finally getting enough sleep again to wake up to the fact that I didn’t quite know myself anymore.  Does that familiar to you?  I existed but I wasn’t really living in a way that made me feel that I was living my purpose or in a meaningful way.

So, I started taking more of an interest in the most interesting subject of all- MYSELF.  Not to come across as self-absorbed, but I started to dig deeper into myself and reveal the real magic in me.  Somewhere buried under car seat research, remembering to switch the laundry, building confidence in parenting decisions based on trial and error and a huge dependence on caffeine, a flicker of light eeked its way out from that mess.

So, I started exploring.  I started paying attention.  I hadn’t been one to pick up a self-help book (now more approachably categorized as personal growth), but I was opening up to the idea and some resources came across my path.  A podcast to check out, remembering a program a friend had done years before and intrigued me, a couple mainstream books prominently placed on Target shelves.

Learning that other people were on their own journeys made me feel like maybe I could go on one too.

All these connections built up the momentum to keep learning more.  I started to apply these techniques to other areas of my life.  I started simple habits to helped me notice how to make life easier. I learned about Human Design and discovered the magic of being a 3/5 Splenic Projector.

I had some shifts happen with my role at work and I put thought into what I wanted out of that part of my life too, to make that work better align with what I wanted.  To do more of what I liked and less of what I didn’t.  To feel like I was chasing fireflies. With each layer of discovery and growth, I started to feel like I was getting closer to my real purpose...  Like my inner glow was growing.

And while my journey isn’t complete because I’m counting on another good 40-50 years on this planet, I felt like there were other moms who could use a light in the dark, to remind them of their magic and to encourage them to let their light shine bright for the world.  So, I used what lights me up, encouraging others, beautiful stationary, getting mail, researching and collecting the most useful nuggets, and created a guidebook for you.  It truly lights me up to share the Firefly Scout Curiosity Quest with you as a free mindful movement meditation to help you navigate the path of your journey.

The world is a better place when we’re fully living in it.  The world needs your light.  Dare to grow your glow!  Dare to become a firefly, letting your glow dance in the dark.
